EFTPS - The Quickest and Most Convenient Way to Pay Your Federal Payroll Taxes

Wondering how you are going to pay your Federal Payroll Taxes? Have you been wondering what the IRS means when they say that you must make a deposit?

The IRS has a very convenient system for depositing your payroll tax right into their account. It's called the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System, more widely known as EFTPS.

You can access EFTPS by using the internet or by phone. This system is very safe and when you login by internet, you will be required to enter your EIN, a four digit PIN number and an internet password.

Why USE EFTPS?

As an employer, your time is limited. EFTPS will make life easier when it comes to paying your taxes. Here's why...

  • You can use EFTPS to make all of your federal tax payments. Everything can be handled in one spot.

  • You can make your tax payments right from your computer or telephone. This means that you can pay your taxes on your own time, 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week.

  • You can schedule business payments up to 120 days in advance and you can change or cancel that payment within 2 days of the scheduled payment date. Funds will not move from your account until the date that you set when paying your taxes.

  • EFTPS allows you to check your payment history for the last 16 months. Therefore, you will have access to past payments and records.

  • EFTPS will move the funds from your account to the federal account. Just submit your payment one calendar day before the due date and EFTPS will take care of it from there.

How Do You Enroll?

Enrolling is easy. You can visit EFTPS and click on the Enroll button. All you need is basic information about your business including your EIN number.

You can also call EFTPS at: 1-800-555-4477 and set up your account.

If you own a small business, you will need to set up an EFTPS account in order to pay your taxes. It's easy and very convenient and you will be able to deposit your 941 and 940 payments quickly and easily!
